About Canadian Webmaster

Canadian Webmaster is run by Shane Heyworth, a web developer in Caledonia, Ontario. Shane has spent twenty years building and running websites for Canadian businesses: trades companies, retailers, e-commerce stores, and a national sports platform with tens of thousands of pages.

Why "webmaster"

The word fell out of fashion, but the job never went away. Someone has to keep the software updated, the backups running, the certificate renewed and the forms working. Someone has to make the change when your phone number or your prices change. For most small businesses, that someone is nobody, until something breaks.

A webmaster is the person who is still there after launch. That is the whole idea.

Why Canadian

Canadian websites answer to rules most templates and offshore builders have never heard of: AODA accessibility in Ontario, Quebec’s Law 25 on consent and privacy, French-language requirements for businesses in Quebec, and CASL for every email sign-up form. Prices are in Canadian dollars, taxes are set up properly, and the person you talk to is in your time zone.
