Questions people ask

How accurate is this estimate?

It reflects what small and mid-size Canadian business sites typically cost with an independent developer in 2026. Most projects land inside the range shown. The real number depends on content, integrations and how many people sign off. A short call turns it into a fixed quote.

Are prices in Canadian dollars?

Yes. Everything is in CAD and before GST/HST, which is added at your province’s rate. Platform fees such as Shopify plans are billed separately by the platform.

Why does a French version add so much?

A proper bilingual site means professional translation, a second set of URLs with hreflang tags, a language switcher, French forms and emails, and French SEO. Machine translation alone tends to read badly and can fall short of what the Charter of the French language expects for businesses operating in Quebec.

Do I need a maintenance plan?

You need someone doing the work: updates, backups, security patches, uptime monitoring and the occasional change. Some owners do it themselves. A plan makes it predictable and means someone notices when something breaks before your customers do.
